Silviu's Wardrobe Combinations

The one rule: the belt matches the shoes, not the trousers. Same colour family, similar finish (matte with matte, polished with polished).

Your three belts:
• Brown leather → your default. Pairs with brown leather sneakers, cognac Ecco, Geox boat shoes, Camper boots. This is the belt for almost everything - chinos, smart-casual, the office, events.
• Black leather → formal only. Wear with black Ecco loafers. Since black shoes are your formal-only option, the black belt comes out rarely - dark suit, black shoes, black belt.
• Casual / woven → jeans and relaxed chinos. Works with green Ecco, Converse, and casual looks where a polished leather belt would feel too dressy. Good with beige and olive chinos in summer.

By outfit:
• Biking / weekend / casual → woven belt + green Ecco or Converse
• Office drop-in / lunch / smart-casual → brown leather + brown sneakers or cognac Ecco
• Summer events / blazer → brown leather + cognac Ecco
• Formal (dark suit) → black leather + black loafers

Avoid: black belt with brown shoes, or brown belt with black shoes - the mismatch reads as an afterthought. When in doubt, you're almost always in brown.

The principle: the scarf is your easiest accent. It sits right by your face, so a warm colour here does the most work for your colouring. Match it loosely to the jacket or coat, and let it carry the colour.

Your six scarves, ranked by how often you'll reach for them:
• Brown crinkle → your best one. Warm, in your palette, works with the olive Revolution, navy parka, grey blazer, camel knitwear. Default choice.
• Navy with red stripe → versatile and a touch sharp. Great with the navy parka, grey blazer, and any neutral coat. The red line is a quiet accent.
• Grey-pink/red striped → lightweight, spring weight. The warm stripe lifts grey and navy jackets. Good transitional-weather piece.
• Grey ribbed knit → solid winter workhorse. Pairs with everything but adds no colour - reach for it when the outfit already has its accent.
• Grey-black herringbone → structured, dressier. Best over the grey or navy blazer and the parka. Winter weight.
• Blue crinkle → lightweight, cool-toned. Works with navy and grey, but cooler than your ideal - keep it for blue/navy outfits where it ties together rather than as a standalone accent.

By jacket:
• Olive Revolution → brown crinkle (earth tones) or navy-red stripe
• Navy parka → brown crinkle, navy-red stripe, or grey herringbone
• Grey blazer / flannel → navy-red stripe, grey-pink stripe, or herringbone
• Dark green Revolution → brown crinkle (best), grey ribbed

Accent move: with a neutral coat and neutral outfit, the brown or navy-red scarf becomes the whole look's colour. That's the cheapest way to make a grey/navy outfit feel considered. Avoid stacking a bold scarf over an already-colourful top - pick one place for the colour.

The principle: socks bridge the trouser and the shoe. Match the sock to the trouser, not the shoe - it lengthens the leg and looks intentional.

Colour by trouser:
• Navy chinos → navy or charcoal socks
• Beige chinos → beige, tan, or brown socks (tonal)
• Olive chinos → olive, brown, or dark green socks
• Grey / dark grey chinos → grey or charcoal socks
• Jeans → anything goes; navy, grey, or a burgundy/mustard accent for fun

Length:
• Long trousers (chinos, jeans) → crew length, calf-height. No ankle skin when seated.
• Shorts → low/invisible trainer socks. Never crew socks with shorts.
• Boat shoes (Geox) in summer → invisible no-show socks.
• Smart-casual with blazer → over-the-calf if dressy, otherwise crew in a colour matching the trouser.

Avoid: white sport socks with anything but sportswear. Novelty socks for office/events. Black socks with brown shoes and light trousers (too harsh - go brown or tonal instead).

Accent move: a burgundy or mustard sock with navy or grey trousers + brown shoes is a quiet signature. Keep it subtle - it should peek, not shout.
